Term 1: Coastal Banksia & Fungi in Graphite & Watercolour
Learn the techniques for drawing plants and the art materials required. Discover the intricacies of drawing what you see and putting your interpretation onto paper. The basis of a good painting is a well-crafted drawing.
We will start by drawing a Coastal Banksia seedpod in graphite. With demonstrations and encouragement, you will enjoy mastering the skill of tonal drawing. It’s so rewarding and a popular artform you will want to continue.
Progress to watercolour, master colour mixing, master brush techniques and how to use watercolour to its best effect. For the Banksia and the Fungi paintings we will concentrate on the major elements of composition, colour intensity, depth and realism to create a contemporary botanical work.
Develop self-belief in your drawing and painting ability to produce artwork to be proud of. Learn new and exciting art techniques which will help to progress your art to exhibition quality.
