Join Artist Craig Penny (VIC) in this Full Day Workshop and Explore a Fresh and Loose Approach to Acrylic Landscape Painting. With step-by-step demonstrations, participants will be encouraged to explore their own techniques and creativity. With an emphasis on interpreting photographs in a loose and energetic style, Craig’s classes are fun and suitable for all skill levels.

2 Stretched Canvases, one smaller one for a one-hour painting challenge. Square or landscape format. A good working size is 24 x 20 inches or 30 x 24 inches. MINIMUM SIZE 16 x 20 inches

Acrylic/oil brushes

Suitable palettes for acrylics

Spray Bottle

Something to draw with

Anything you would like to paint with, eg palette knife

All images will be supplied but bring any photographs that you would like to paint from.

Participants will be required to bring their working surfaces (stretched canvas, board etc.) Coated in a very pale blue…I use gesso with a touch of cobalt blue…this eliminates the white of the canvas or use a Matisse background colour called Whisper Blue Available at Shore Studio Art Supplies.

PAINTS (SUGGESTED COLOURS ONLY) ACRYLICS – Matisse Colours – Cobalt blue, Prussian blue, Cadmium red, Primary yellow, Sky Blue, Australian Sienna, Titanium White, Australian Sap Green, Permanent Light Violet, Aqua Green Light, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna. Participants are welcome to sample any of Craig’s “extra colours” before they purchase.
