This 8x week course is for absolute beginners and a refresher for anyone else wanting to get back to basics to improve their skills.

These classes will give you a foundation to build on and help you understand how watercolour works by learning and practicing essential techniques and skills.

You will learn methods through a series of structured exercises to practice so you can grow your confidence in this beautiful fluid medium.  These exercises will allow for individual expression which will serve as valuable visual references for future artwork.

Week 1-4:  Paper, paint, brushes & other tools. Washes, wet on dry, wet on wet, glazing etc.  Textures, resists and lifting methods

Weeks 5-8:  Paint personality properties, pigments & colour mixing/ theory.  How to plan a watercolour painting.  Begin a final artwork project.

Individuals will need to bring their own materials. An art materials list will be provided upon enrolment.
