Pet Portraits are great fun, a wonderful challenge and either a keepsake or special gift.

Come and draw your pet pooch or favourite animal with local Redlands Fine Artist/Illustrator Louise Saunders. Learn the techniques to complete a realistic pastel drawing with a focus on eyes and fur. You will need a clear photo of your pet* that you will transfer onto A3 pastel paper supplied by your tutor. You’ll use a combination of soft pastels and pastel pencils on pastel paper.

Materials list:

Soft pastels and pastel pencils in a range of colours to suit your chosen animal. Charcoal pencils, white and black can be handy too. BYO or order from Shore Studio Art Supplies.

Your tutor will supply transfer paper and pastel paper

*Important Note: After booking please email your pet/animal photo to [email protected] and we’ll check its suitability. Your photo needs to be very clear and the animal’s head should take up an entire A4 page. So this also involves being a good photographer too, so start clicking away to get that perfect pose!

This is an all day workshop running from 9.30am to 4.30pm
