Pet Portraits are great fun, a wonderful challenge and either a keepsake or special gift.

Join Sandra Temple as she guides you through the techniques of completing an A4 pet portrait from your own photo. In this full day workshop you will use Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils to create your artwork in a relaxed, positive environment. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, although some artistic knowledge is an advantage.

Sandra, an internationally recognised artist and tutor, developed her accelerated learning method over more than 30 years as a professional working in the creative fields. She is the Australian Ambassador for Faber-Castell, is a lifetime member of the Qld Wildlife Artists Society, a signature member of Artists for Conservation and the co-owner of Artist Slingshot, an online business for all things creative. Sandra works in all mediums and paints all subjects, holding weekly classes from Wynnum Manly to Nerang.

Materials list:

You will need a clear photo of your pet* that you will transfer onto A4 pastel paper supplied by the studio.

Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils: White 101, ivory 103, warm grey II 271, cold grey II 231, dark sepia 175, dark indigo 157, caput mortuum 169, flesh tones 131, 132 and 189, walnut 177, black 199.

Pastel pencils needed for individual portraits depend on their colour. At least a dark, medium and light in the main colours.

*Important Note: After booking please email your pet/animal photo to michelle@shorestudio.com.au and we’ll check its suitability. Your photo needs to be very clear and the animal’s head should take up an entire A4 page. So this also involves being a good photographer too, so start clicking away to get that perfect pose!

This is an all day workshop running from 9.30am to 4.30pm
