This is a foundation course in coloured pencils designed increase your confidence when working with this most vibrant and transparent of mediums.

Many of us have coloured pencils and we are totally unaware of their full potential.

Through a series of exercises, we will explore the many different ways in which coloured pencils can be used.

Among the techniques we will explore are:

• Preparing paper for drawing and transferring images
• Laydown techniques
• Shading and colour overlays
• Blending
• Colour picking
• Using solvents and burnishers
• Slicing and pulling out
• Reserving whites
• Fur techniques

A series of notes will be given by the tutor which cover the many techniques we will be exploring. There will be plenty of time for questions and there will also be tutor demos included.

Small soft fan brush

A sharpener which will ensure a super sharp point
